The clutch went out in my 07 mustang, so I had it towed to a Ford/Dealer/Repair Dealer. I signed an estimate for $850 for a new clutch. The serviceman, advised me that to inspect the car it would be $280, but applied towards the repairs (pretty standard practice at dealerships). The serviceman gave me a loaner car (a 07 mustang). After a few days, he called and informed me that "it might not be the clutch, and that it might be the transmission (which would be covered under warranty) but in order for them to look at it, I would have to consent to another $480", but again he reassured me it was also going toward the original estimate of $850 clutch job. So I agreed.
a few more days go by and he informs me that it was the clutch after all, not the transmission, so I gave him permission to go ahead and finish the clutch job. A few more days go by and he contacts me, and says "my car is ready, but the parts have doubled in price and that it would be approximately. $1250 total.
I was pissed, I told him that I was unemployed and that all I had was $850, he told me he wouldn't release my car until I paid the $1250. He also told me I needed to return the loaner car, immediately.

This is where I started to screw up, I felt that I had no choice but to keep the loaner until I got my next unemployment check, about 10 days more, I know, stupid! Well, needless to say, I was arrested, and charged with embezzled vehicle, I spent 8 days in county jail!!!

Now, the dealer is charging me with all kinds of things, storage of my vehicle, trumped-up damage charges to the loaner, outrageous overdue loaner charges.
All this added up to a Whopping $4800. The dealer has since liened my car and is getting ready to sell it. Kelly bluebook on my car is about $11,500.

I am so screwed, please? please? please?, is there anything I can do to stop the sale, other than pay the $4800. I have no way to get the money, I have 3 kids, and you know the rest...:confused::confused:
