What is the name of your state? MD

I filed divorce for joint physical custoday. However I have to take more business trip to work on the client side out of state, from MD to CA. I can only return home during the weekend to visit children. Does this effect my custody?

It will effect your percentage of parenting time, which could effect the support order.

Legal custody and physical custody are two different things.
