What is the name of your state? Wisconsin.

I was driving in my car, turned left on a green light, and was immediatly pulled over. Apparently there was a no left turn sign that I overlooked. So the officer pulls me over and says he smells pot. He searches the car and finds a pipe and small traces of marijuana in the backseat by my friend. He slaps my friend with the paraphernalia and possession charge. Upon seaching the vehicle, he also finds an empty flask in my glove compartment that smells like whiskey. I had not been drinking (that empty flask had been in there for about 3 months). So he slaps me with open container and illegal turn (both he said would be sent to me in the mail). Do you think I could lower my open container penalty or illegal left turn ticket at all? My only concern is that I don't have many points left on my license and I already pay a buttload in insurance.
Any helpful information is appreciated.

When you get to court, ask the clerk who you talk to about diversions or pleading to a nonmoving violation.

If your record is good, you may have a chance; if your record is not good, you may not have so good a chance.
