Order of visitation

My son has 2 young children and was never married to the mother. He pays support and up to this point they have been able to agree on visitation so he never got any visitation order set up through the courts. She now is giving him problems with visitation. How does he go about filing for court ordered visitation? Does he need to obtain an attorney or is there papers he can file on his own?

If he doesn't even know how to go about filing for visitation, he needs an attorney. He needs to know which forms to fill out, how to fill them out, how to file them, how to properly serve them and then he needs to know enough about the law to represent himself in court.
