I'm looking forward to my older daughter coming in tonight! I haven't had her home on Thanksgiving for a few years because of the expense, but she's coming in today. Youngest sister requested that I get her older sister here for her birthday. Thanks grandma for getting her here!

Aren't Grandmas the best?

We're all thankful for Grandmothers who are looking out for the children and grandchildren's best interests!!

When it actually was dad's holiday he always tried to keep him until school started again and just send him to school that day, so, I've spent several holiday at dad's door with the police trying to get my child back at the end of the day.

You can do that? If dad doesn't bring the kids back per the decree at noon tomorrow, I can have the police come with me to collect them?

Sorry, don't mean to hijack, but my attorney told me that the police wouldn't get involved in a custody issue... (NH is my state)

You are very mean and cruel and my laptop is not your friend right now.

It does NOT appreciate being bathed in Eau De Cheap-Ass Boxed Chardonnay (from Walmart, natch).

:o:D

(and yes, feel better L!)

YOU are someone I want to talk to you. VOICE wise. Seriously. Send me your number. I will talk.

Arrgggh. You need some b& j's -- Ben and Jerry's for those with dirty minds. That will soothe the throat. I hope you feel better hon. I really do. And not just because i have wine.

LD is the little sister I never had. :) :D:p

Thank you...although I have discovered tonite that a little wine numbs things down a bit too. I managed to eat a little chicken and noodles tonite.

Hopefully I can enjoy tommorrow, for at least a little while.

They only went with me to do a "standby" and make sure it was a peaceful exchange. Dad didn't know this however. LOL He just saw me outside with the police and assumed they were going to make him give our son back to me. :)

An officer can't "arrest" their a** over it, but they have been known to help reason with the unreasonable. If anything, you have documentation when filing contempt over the issue.

Enjoy hon. Try to feel better and get better. Wine helps (it does numb) but it is not the best. The best is sleep and rest and love. LOL How is that for corny? :)

Lovey, that's cornier than cream chowder.

(I'm not even sure what that means but I was assured by Google that it was not only appropriate but also funny. I have my doubts)

(I'm typing this bit with really little letters, k? shhh. We're dumping Vonage and getting a real phoneline...as soon as that happens I will be able to bore you rigid with tales of sheep's head stew and My Granny's Experience In The Ann Summers Store. Deal?)

(and also Bella and Ana and a couple other folk should be warned...bahahaha!)

I KNOW that a 47-pound gobbler wasn't harmed, at least.

Mine will only be a 14 pounder to be consumed.

On a different note, I had thought of putting my extra cans of pumpkin on ebay. There wasn't a can to be purchased anywhere here in south Florida. I had purchased mine early!! That would have helped with the cost of those tickets for daughter. :D:D

Use the term "free-range turducken" only if the turkey has eaten both the duck and the chicken.

Home after a long day of real job & side job (200+miles today) so no time to partake of libations. Yet. :p

Tomorrow I will get up early and create sweet tater casserole, veggie casserole and pineapple upside down cake. The Child will make a deep dish pumpkin pie. At 3PM we will trek to my Mom & Dad's house (100 miles there and back again) and join 3 out of 4 of my sibs and their families. After we finish off the bowls and platters (including Mom's Chicken-n-Dumplins' - we are most unworthy!), we will regal today's children about "When We Were Your Age" played at countless homes every holiday and feel most thankful for what we have. :D

Wishing you, my keyboard friends, a fond memory and a day of thankfulness.
