O/T: New Years Resolutions

Let's hear it guys... what are yours?

List the ones you already know aren't going to happen too!

I resolve to:

Lose some weight
Be a little nicer to people (ok.. some people)
Save more money
Make more money
Go this whole year without buying a new car
Grow my hair out
Go 1 straight week without yelling at anyone or losing my temper (my best friend bet me I couldn't do it)

Get a better job (that pays way more money)

Lose the weight I found here in the sunny south ...

Not let a certain someone get under my skin ...

See my kids out west ...

Unclutter my house ...

1. get my spare/storage room cleaned out.

2. walk my dogs more often. (I've gotton lazy, I exercise them by taking them out in the yard at nite and letting them chase a laser lite)

3. get my hair cut, it is waay too long for a grandma.

4. not go overboard buying frilly baby clothes for my grandaughter.

5. be more understanding of my husband's moods (men can have "bad hair days too).

6. spend more time with my parents.

and last, but far from least:
7. quit smoking in 23 minutes.

Now for the ones I might not do- # 1. will take awhile, but it'll get done.
#4 is very iffy, but I'm gonna try real hard.

The others, especially # 7 is gonna be easy 'cause I'm going to let my stubborn side take over.

Happy new year y'all. Gotta go smoke my last 2 cigarettes before 12:00.

1. Quit smoking by the end of 2008. Hubby and I are doing the gradual stepdown together.
2. Not gain the weight caused by replacing cigs with food.
3. Keep being the good stepmom, not dealing with the parental issues.
4. Replace the curse words with better choices.

I actually think the hardest one is going to be number 4. I set myself up with a Quitnet account and the hubby and I will be each other's support with the smoking. Number 3's been happening for over a year now, but I gotta remind myself to keep it going.

Hope you all have a safe night )

Get our bedroom and bathroom and kids bathroom redone

Reduce our debt!

AND I probably won't do any of them!

This year I resolve to take my lunch to work and save the money I waste eating out;

Be more understanding when people disappoint me;

Draw some clear boundaries in the unhealthy areas of my life;

Save enough money that I need not be dependant on a man (hard to do with MDB but I WILL do it this year!);

Learn to play the piano so I can write the music for my lyrics;

2008 is going to be SOOOOO MUUUCCCHHH BETTER!

My New Year's Resolution

I resolve to be nice and naughty! :D

1) Use my lunch hour to get some exercise and not graze. It’s soo easy to leisurely graze as I read or chat when no one is trying to pre-chew food for me.

2) Write my ToDo’s so they actually get Done

3) Read at least 2-3 books a month. 1, non-fiction. 1 grown-up book, and maybe 1 kid-lit/fluff. Everything I’ve been reading lately is job-related. I love the Harry Potter books and a lot of Youth Lit but I do have better than a 5th grade education. What the heck happened to me as a reader?

4) Go to bed earlier.

Oh, and I'm stealing naughty & nice too. Hubby will thank you Blondie.

1) not get pregnant again this year. i have been literally pregnant for 3 years straight!!! i am sick to death of it!!

2) to encourage my 10 year old to make it to the 5th grade where he is supposed to be before the second semester starts.

3) to pay more loving attention to my patient loving husband now that all of the stupid stuff in my life is sorted out.

4) to find a real honest to goodness stay at home job so i can have some income.

5) to look good in a bikini this summer for the first time in my life before my boobs fall past my knees.

6) to enroll in school to be a paralegal.

lol

my personal NYR, is to get the plastic off the boxsprings of my king bed....i thought leaving it would protect it, but i'm learning thx to my fiance that the plastic only allows him to yank the covers to his head, and uncover my feet!!!!! so it's getting done tomorrow! today was the day to just lay around lol

To finally realize that my x's legal trantrums are not worth the worry and stress... he can pitch a fit or a 100 of them in 2008 and more in 2009 I am going to live my life unencumered by him, enjoy our beautiful daugther, relish that her father does love her and appreciate the new love in my life

Lose some weight
Lost it, but I think I found it again. Maybe I'll lose it again.
Be a little nicer to people (ok.. some people)
Yeah, I'm sure someone in this world thinks I'm nicer to them
Save more money
Gas prices......:mad:
Make more money
Due for a raise in about 6 weeks. Won't feel it though (gas prices):mad:
Go this whole year without buying a new car
So far so good! Don't plan on buying one this year
Grow my hair out
RIGHT ON THE MONEY!
Go 1 straight week without yelling at anyone or losing my temper (my best friend bet me I couldn't do it)
I DID IT!!!! (if anyone really knew me, you'd know how difficult this was). In fact, I think I went almost a whole month.

special mom

This year I resolve to take my lunch to work and save the money I waste eating out;

Brought my salad from my garden today...doing well with that.

Be more understanding when people disappoint me;

I am working on that, made a little progress. Guess that is better than no progress

Draw some clear boundaries in the unhealthy areas of my life;

Did it and it worked so much better than I could have imagined!

Save enough money that I need not be dependant on a man (hard to do with MDB but I WILL do it this year!);

MDB is much better this year so I have actually put in a few full weeks at work! I bought a new car and paid cash so that is good. My nest egg is growing again.

Learn to play the piano so I can write the music for my lyrics;

I got the keyboard, am pecking away and am slowly getting the hang of it.

2008 is going to be SOOOOO MUUUCCCHHH BETTER!

So far, 2008 is going GREAT! MDB only has seizures when she is sick and that is less frequent now. Her neurologist told us he's amazed at her improvement! He says she is doing so well they have taken more brain surgery off the table! I have been invited to speak at John's Hopkins as a parent educator for the Ketogenic Diet in August and October. MDB is well enough that we are going to venture to Rehoboth Beach Saturday for a day trip. She has never seen the ocean. I am very thankful for every little blessing!

Get a better job (that pays way more money)

Still looking for that better job. Have dusted off the resume though.

Lose the weight I found here in the sunny south ...

Since I am known as queen of cheap, and gas prices have been skyrocketing, I decided that I could commute to work by bicycle. My 14 miles each way should help with this goal. New goal is: fatten the pocketbook, not the waistline.

Not let a certain someone get under my skin ...
Things are going better in this regard. FA really helped me put things into perspective.

See my kids out west ...

We are working on family reunion at end of month.

Unclutter my house ...
As FlyLady says, you can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes. So, we are working on:
1. picking up behind ourselves
2. working on kidling picking up behind herself
3. working thru a box, 15 minutes at a time.

1. get my spare/storage room cleaned out.

I finally got that done 2 weeks ago. Now, if I can just keep it that way, I'm a terrible pack rat.

2. walk my dogs more often. (I've gotton lazy, I exercise them by taking them out in the yard at nite and letting them chase a laser lite)

Still use the laser light, but am walking every day also.

3. get my hair cut, it is waay too long for a grandma.

Done, and everyone says I look younger.

4. not go overboard buying frilly baby clothes for my grandaughter.

I limited myself to only 4 little dresses, so I did good.

5. be more understanding of my husband's moods (men can have "bad hair days too).

Done, sometimes.:o

6. spend more time with my parents.

Mom and I made an agreement to meet for lunch at least once a month, and cook dinner for each other twice a month.

and last, but far from least:
7. quit smoking in 23 minutes.

Well, no body's perfect. I did well for 3 weeks, then all heck broke loose and I'm back to smoking. But, Im trying to smoke less than I was.

Here's how I did - I was too tired to post last night:

Dagwood has put bed linens in "The Sheets Hall of Fame".

He took his very first bath (a shower man). It was a bubble bath with an aromatherapy candle, Kenny G's Classics in the Key of G for music playing, and one wash cloth. He said, "Bed, Bath, and Beyond ain't got nothing on you.

There are times when we go to dinner, I wear a short skirt (not too short), and after ordering drinks & dinner, I whisper in his ear that I don't have on any panties.

In the two seater convertible, I wear a bit shorter sarong. The wind raises the sarong up just enough to expose my panties. He likes the pink & purple panties best. So do the truckers. :D

Aww man… I suck!

1) Use my lunch hour to get some exercise and not graze. It’s soo easy to leisurely graze as I read or chat when no one is trying to pre-chew food for me.

I started off well. Then I was introduced to a clause in my contract that states that I’m allotted 30 min duty-free, and 30 WORKING minutes. Never mind that I work though my lunch most days and most other people BS in the lounge for the full hour. They’re in building and at least available if need be. Sigh. I’ll walk or something but it ain’t cardio at that point.

2) Write my ToDo’s so they actually get Done

Worse than ever... I’m seriously considering trying ADHD meds.

It took me until March to get rolling but I’m pretty much doing it

4) Go to bed earlier.

Bwhahaha. Worse than ever

Oh, and I'm stealing naughty & nice too. Hubby will thank you Blondie.

D@mn, not even this one

By the end of '08 I'd like to see myself styling my hair (get rid of the BUN) and maybe even start wearing makeup again... NAHHHHHHHH (2nd one won't happen...hahha why resolve to do what I don't wanna do)
