Question regarding if my employer is following the law. If I work more than 4 hours they dock me 1/2 hour for a meal break. Rarely am I able to actually take a break. 1/2 the time we are not able to eat, we work during the said break and we are not allowed to leave the facility to obtain food while we are "clocked out" for the break.

I feel I am getting screwed

According to federal wage and hour regulations, to be a bona fide meal break, you must be relieved of all duty. If you are required to stay on the premises to handle possible call backs, then I do not see that as a bona fide meal break for which you can be docked pay. I would be interested in seeing other responses on this.

Agree with Patty. If you work through your meal break, they must pay you for it.
