Simple answer -- he was violated of his parole term, so he zoomed back to the prison with no question like Monopoly - GO DIRECTLY TO THE JAIL. And how long he be there? The answer is the rest of his original sentence that he has to complete.

He is probably at Chino for classification and to await a revocation hearing. These hearings are supposed to occur within 30 days, I believe, but until July, the state has a little more time. He should be able to receive visitors while awaiting his hearing.

Hartmann is wrong. In CA, parole is a separate 3-year term served after the entire sentence on the conviction is served. The maximum parole violation term is 1 year, but for being under the influence he might just a 90-day "dry-out." Chino is not a particularly bad prison.
