What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

Long story short:

-I worked for a company that is now bankrupt. The papers have not been completed but the bankruptcy will be filed and closed in three weeks.

- In my HORRIBLE error I set up the companies paypal account. Using *gulp* my social security number.

- Obviously, Paypal is coming after me for the money.

- Paypal has told me that if I can get amended bankruptcy documents showing the debt is the companies and not mine they will relieve me of the debt. Would the courts actually do this?

Do I have any shot of legally avoiding this debt. All the bank accounts, addresses, payments listed in the account are the companies.

I know the stupidity of what i did. Rehashing that does nothing. I am just hoping common sense can somehow win.

Thanks
