You are not using the word hypothetical correctly. Both the People's court scenario and my personal scenario are not hypothetical situations. Even if I wasn't "in the middle of this," it still wouldn't be hypothetical in my case. I can, however, still seek legal recourse, but I have learned that my interpretation of the law in both cases were correct.

I am using the word "hypothetical" correctly. See, if you are NOT directly involved in a situation and you ask questions such as yours, it is "hypothetical". It's a "What if" type of scenario. As you CAN still seek recourse, it's not hypothetical. I'm glad you had your questions answered.

There was no what if type scenarios. I asked a questions directly regarding a situation that happened. How is that hypothetical? Just because I am not involved directly with a situation, does not make it hypothetical. If that was the case, almost every question posed would be hypothetical. Please give me a denotative reference that supports your use of the word.

I'm glad you got the answers your your questions.

Thank you. Well, I guess we are now on the same page with the use/misuse of the word hypothetical. Right? You were making it sound like if someone refers to case law for their case, it would be considered hypothetical.

Note: I am not referring to People's Court as case law. I was giving an example.

Nah, I just don't feel like arguing with the wall any more

I'm just trying to make you a little smarter. Whether you want to be argumentative or not, you could end it with a simple reference. I think you know you are wrong and will never use that word incorrectly again. I'm glad I could help improve your life.
