What is the name of your state? Miss.
My daughter was involved in an accident over a year ago. Her lawyer is now proposing settlement to the insurance company of the at fault party. Our health insurance carrier has of course petitioned for a return of the monies they paid for health care. My husband and I, however, lent her money to pay her bills, (we also paid her bills) to get her by since she could not work for a while. She promised to pay us back when she received her settlement. She is 22 years old and has since become involved in, let's just say the wrong kind of lifestyle, and we know we will now not get our money back (roughly $8-10 thousand dollars). At the time, we did not know that maybe we should have also petitioned for our money. Is it possible to do that now or is it too late?
