What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Louisiana.

I had no idea where to put this, so mods, feel free to move this if necessary.

My ex-wife's parental rights to my daughters were terminated as of April 2008. Since then, she has repeatedly posted their pictures with their names and ages on her MySpace profile. I've asked MySpace to take them down, and they have, but she continues to put the pictures up. She's even created new profiles, and she's constantly changing her residence, so blocking her IP address won't work.

Can the police do anything about this? She is a legal stranger to the girls now, and she most certainly does not have my permission to be posting these pictures. I am very concerned because she lives a high-risk lifestyle now (e.g. drugs) and I know she has angered many people. I don't want my kids being exploited by her anymore. Is there anything, such as endangering a minor?

Names, phone numbers, and addresses are all deemed public information, so you'll likely not find any potential legal recourse to take in regards to this information.

Are they pictures that your ex-wife took with your daughters or pictures your daughters took and posted themselves on their own myspace accounts/profiles?

As far as I know, if they were uploaded by your daughters and taken by your ex-wife (via the handy power of right click copy past or save) then your pretty screwed and your only way to combat her assault against your children and yourself using these pictures (and ages and names) would be to have myspace continue to remove the said pictures from her profile and copyright their pictures.

But if they are pictures that your ex-wife took while still in custody then she really doesn't have to delete them because the pictures are of her ownership.

The only way I think you can take real action is if she begins communicating with your daughters, thought on the computer would leave you with little to do against her (unless chat logs and ect were brought up.)

I can't simply tell you to turn a blind eye because I know your upset but, it may come down to you just coming to terms with your ex being a crazy woman, hellbent on agitating you as much as she possibly can. :/ sorry to say that there is not much else I can offer you in advice.

I do wonder though how she affords to change location, because if it weren't for that then as you said, simply blocking her ip address would be enough.

(that or crippling her computer with a not so legal virus or worm)

*I do not recommend doing that.

I wonder if it could be viewed as a form of harassment(?) against you and your daughters.

I doubt it but.... I do not know for sure.

I wish you the best.
