There is nothing legally you can really do at this point. Be prepared if you take this back to court, he can fight it also. It won't necessarily mean you get what you want. Even though I think calling the girlfriend mom is stretching it, if it is a long term committed relationship then for all immediate purposes she is being a mom to your son. It may be easier for him to handle when she is doing these things for your son. He doesn't have to explain it to all his friends and cause him discomfort. If she is in the mother roll then she may deserve the title. Because the son does it, it may be easier for your daughter to just follow his lead. I don't think it is done to put you down, but to raise her up. Even though I personally believe they should be married, the person there in the middle of the night, calming fears, cleaning up after them, taking care of them when they are sick, washing clothes, doing homework and all those other things is being a mom. Birth makes you a mother, it's the things that happen everyday that makes you a mom no matter what your blood type says. Ask any adoptive parent. Mom is not a legal term given, mother is. And it does sound like she is being a mom to your son.

You can give good legal advice without being so rude.
No I can't.

People who post here
I agree. Stupidity can be very painful.

They need to know their options. They do not need to
And she WAS given her options. Which are none or return to court to amend the custody agreement. If she doesn't want to do that then stupid is the nicest thing I can say about her.

If you get the right lawyer you will be told what you can do legally.
And of course, it will be exactly what I told her. But for $400 to $1,000 more.

Where I live in Tennessee legal aid will not help in custody
And that is WRONG! Now, how do I know that???? :D

I would not like my child, grandchild OR great-grandchild to live with any couple who isn't married.
And that's just too damn bad. Unless you'd like to travel to Knoxville and change the statutes, it's none of your business with whom your ex lives, boinks or otherwise enjoys.

In spite of "times changing" it is still wrong and a bad example to set. You could find a judge who is old-fashioned enough to agree.
Of course you can. And you can find a judge who wears lace panties, has had a sex change and has smoked a joynt before court. But that means nothing. Because even a judge has to follow the law.

Tough room to work huh?

Come on Belize...we ALL know that there are still judges out there that let that influence them in custody decision, whether they are supposed to do that or not.
