What is the name of your state? Virginia

I am 18 and was awaken by cops in my friends house. I got illegal possession of alcohol becouse there was a party there the night before and there was an abduence of empty cans. I never said i was drinking and no test was given to me to even see if i was drinking. They never read me my right and no alcohol was in the bedroom where I was sleeping. Whats going to happen with this in court? How bad is it?

I would definately fight this if I were you. Get your parents to hire you a private lawyer and make it real expensive for them: motions to suppress, depositions, discovery, etc.

This is a chintzy bull**** charge and they will just drop it if they believe you are going to make it a real headache for them. Don't buy into any lawyer BS about taking a deal on this either. If you get some loser lawyer who talks deals, fire him and tell the next lawyer why you're looking for new counsel - if he accepts you as a client he'll have a pair if you know what I mean.

Listen to Mr. Stoner, he is right. DO NOT TAKE A PLEA BARGIN. They have nothing but will attempt to intimidate you. It will never make it to trial. 95 percent of all cases (civil and criminal) are disposed of without a trial. Don't give in and don't blink. Stand tall and they will be the ones giving in.
