I'm from Chicago Illinois and was working security...I held the security job for over a year....this past holiday season I took a second job at target, which was a seasonal position...my security job was from 3pm to 11pm...one night as my security shift was ending my partner and I was informed one reliever called off and the other was running late...I ended up staying 2 hours past my ending time (1am)...that was the time I decided to leave cause I had to be at my other job soon...I called and texted my bosses but nobody picked up or responded to texts...That morning while working at Target I got a call basically saying don't report to work until further notice....Further notice is approaching a month now and I need to know if i can sue for wrongful termination...they say I abandoned post which means unattended...but my partner from our original shift of 3-11 stayed...someone help me out

Wrongful termination means that you were terminated for some reason that is protected by law (ie: gender, race, etc.) It does not mean that you were terminated because you left your post to go to another job. Based only on what you've posted, nothing illegal has occurred.

Completely agree.

You can sue for wrongful termination in the sense that no law prohibits you from doing so. But if you do, you will lose because you were not wrongfully terminated.

You may or may not have been unfairly terminated. That is a matter of opinion, not law, and holds no legal water. But you were not wrongfully terminated as the law defines it and unless you have omitted major facts you have no grounds for a lawsuit.

I got a call basically saying don't report to work until further notice

When that happens, you apply for unemployment. You might not get anything because of your work at Target, but if you're working part-time or the season ends, you'll be in good shape.
