Absolutely we did, this is the 2nd time in less than a week. Officer came out and took a report, not much they could do because it took place via phone, so its one party's word against the others word. But at least it is documented. And yes, we will have a police escort at every transfer. We had one there when we took the kids back this last time. Its horrible that the kids have to see a cop every single time. But, once again, if he wants to see his kids this is what has to happen, what he has to go thru. Only now he does have an attorney so hopefully things will work out very diffrently this time. Grandpa is only hurting those kids, and is driven by his hate for my bf. He KNOWS the kids love it here and it irks him to no end. Over the summer we took them out on the boat, swimming, to summer camp, to the beach, skating, to the movies. Grandma and Grandpa cant afford to do this stuff because they are too damn lazy to work. Did I also mention that they get child support from the kids' mom (well she doesnt pay it the state pays it for her) as well as from the oldest childs biological father (we know my bf has no legal rights to this child-thats a whole other story) AND they get food stamps and have Medicaid for themselves as well as the kids....Anyone else see a motive here? All that aside, we just want whats best for those kids, and we will fight tooth and nail to give it to them, even if we are in and out of court for the next 10 years. The kids are safe with a man who makes death threats?!!?!?? Thanks everyone.

C- I would say you are correct. Once the agency establishes dependency the child is a ward of the agency. The only thing that is not right here that I see is that the agency is required file for the termination of parental rights after a certain amount of time (and the failure ole' plan for unification with the natural parents). After this length of time I have a hard time believing that either one of the natural parents have any rights. BF needs to contact DCF and get the scoop.

It sounds as though mom's rights have been terminated. Dad has to have some sort of parental rights or he wouldn't be paying child support.

Also, grandpa told my bf that it is none if his ******** business how his daughters foot is and that DCF told him not to allow my bf any type of contact with the kids, not even to allow his court ordered phone visitation. Well next weekend is my bf's weekend to have the kids, and grandpa told my bf that if comes over there to pick them up, even with a police escort, that he would kill him with his bare hands, and that he has the money set aside for bail if he has to go to jail.. My bf did call DCF yesterday and they told him that they cannot interfere in court orders (the visitation), that they can olny remove the child from the home if they are in danger. The DCF worker said he should go ahead and go to pick the kids up with a cop and unless grandpa has a cease order from the court, there is no reason he cant take the kids. So now he has worry about being physically harmed...again..... So I guess we will be filing for an emergency hearing next week and will be in court ASAP. He acuses my bf of violating the court orders when he didnt have them back on July 2nd, yet now he is refusing to let him speak to his kids and is making death threats. We have phone records of the past few months where my bf tried calling the kids on his scheduled nites, how they never answered the phone.....Craziness...

If he brings a police officer with him to pick up the kids there's really no reason to worry about gramps going off on him to any real degree. The second gramps makes a threatening move, he'll find his ass face down on the floor while the officer handcuffs him. Plus, it could be easily argued that the child is in danger because of grandpa's violent tendencies.
