What is the name of your state? NJ

I'll try to make this quick. My lease stated "NO PETS" yet we kept one of our cats for 3 weeks to find a home for it after we moved in. The landlord found out and ordered that we remove the animal. We did so within 3 days. Now she is talking about evicting us being we broke the lease. Please also note that our security check bounced, but as soon as we found out we gave her a bank check as well as paid her for her bank's imposed fees. I don't know if it is realevant but we are a single income family with an infant and we just barely get by. We cannot afford to get the money together to move into a new place while continuing to pay our bills. All of the problems were fixed by reaching oral agreements. So my questions are:

Can she kick us out even though we fixed all problems?

How much time do we have if she can evict us?

Is there any way to extend the time period?

**A: what is the term of your lease?
*******

How much time do we have if she can evict us?

**A: if and when you receive a written eviction notice, post back.

Is there any way to extend the time period?

**A: yes.

"Can she kick us out even though we fixed all problems?"
*** The answer depends on timing. How long ago did you bounce the deposit check? How long ago did you get rid of the prohibited 'pet'?
Have you paid rent since the breach??

To answer Jetx and HomeGuru's questions.

We have a one year lease and we are in the second month of that lease. She has not served us with any papers regarding eviction or anything else for that matter. We have continued to pay and will continue to pay.

Thanks for the quick response.

In that case, if you paid the rent since the violation and the landlord accepted payment, then that acceptance waived the potential future claim for breach. Continue paying, live long and prosper.

I agree in that the violations were cured and as such there is no continuing default and therefore no cause to evict.

Finally, CVillageIdiot made an accurate post.
Thank you.
Of course, you had to echo HG's post and mine to do it, but at least it is a step in the right direction.
