My ma is in her mid to late 50s and has been taking prednisone for probably 20 years now because she has very bad Multiple Sclerosis. She is on 100 other meds too, but the prednisone is the one that she has always stayed with for all this time. She has never experienced any problems from it, dont know how much it helps, but I dont think its unsafe for somebody that age and condition. Just my personal opinion. Hope I could help.

Whenever you have a question about a drug or potential side effects, you can ask your pharmacist. The pharmacist can explain to you if the drug is contraindicated in patients with certain conditions.

My father took Prednisone f/ MS as well. The poster more than likely has no case here. Prednisone won't cause heart damage in a month. Steroids take some time to debilitate a person if they are abused. But w/ a prescription lasting 30 days it is extremely doubtful. Also w/o a complete and thourough medical background, and investigation, it will be hard to say f/ sure. But in general I think you have no case based on that alone.

You have to decide if you want to spend lot's of $'s to pursue it w/ no guarantee at all of winning. It's amazing how money can make the death of a loved one go away isn't it? These poster's on here are already counting money before the body is even cold. Some people just die, and it is not always someone's fault.

OP also asked on medmal forum and wouldn't give facts, also other threads looking to sue because Mom also took Celebrex, he is looking to sue that's all.

My husband had Severe Hypertension & they had him on Massive
doses of Steroids for 8 days. The steroids are not what killed him.

What did the death certificate say as cause(s) of death and was
there an autopsy performed? People usually have disease for many
years. Some are called "silent." They sneak up on ya & can take ya
down quick even though they have been brewing a while. Weight
and weight gain can be a Huge problem. (pardon the pun) My mom
& hubby had "undiagnosed" diabetes for years. There's 5 million more
unknown cases out there. Workplace hazards work over years. By the
time you find out yer not well it's usually been goin' on a long time.
Some people can have adverse reactions to meds. that do not
bother other people. That would have been evident right away
though. It has happened to me, in which case I just quit taking the
med. What people do not realize is that there can be many factors
not known to the average person, so ya can't hold the Docs.
responsible when they don't know what you don't tell them.
People who are chronically ill OR are 60 years+ need to be seen
more often in order to get proper medical care. Lot's of folks do
not see a Doc. regularly from that age on because they think they
are fine cause they didn't go to Docs. before & they can still walk
& breathe. It's called the old school and Stubborn. High blood
pressure is part of Heart Disease & is chronic wether or not you feel
ill. It takes years to mess up your blood vessels unless you have
a stroke, heart attack &/or infection. My hubby was on 7 pills
some twice a day for many years. Eventually he had congestive heart
failure. (fluid back up behind the heart) His blood pressure bottomed
out a few times cause the heart was not able to pump the blood
through the system properly. He was 62. Start taking responsibility
for yer own health, don't always blame the Docs. & don't think you
got lots of time to start doing it. It'll sneak up on ya like a bat from
behind.
Just my 4 cents of research & personal experience. If ya don't believe
me, do yer own research!! What you don't know Can hurt you.
