Short answer: No.
Grandparents have no legal rights or obligations to their grandchild. Parents are obligated to provide support (ie. a place to live) until their minor child reaches the age of majority (18 in most states).
But, are parents required to allow their minor child to have her/his minor child live in their home (ie. is there an obligation for a grandparent of a minor-aged parent to provide a home for their grandchild?)
its dad's daughter decision alone as wether to keep the baby, get an abortion, or place the child for adoption. neither you or dad have any legal rights to this child. nor do either of you have any say over the child.
I would seriously judge any parent who would play that card.
Yes, but would it be legal? If so, where does the baby go? It seems that the spirit of the law would require grandparents to provide food and shelter for their minor child's minor child but without any rights to that child.
I would seriously judge any parent who would play that card.
