in the state of Michigan, can record of prior marriages be removed permanently when marriage was terminated legally in divorce or do you state how many times you have been married when you apply for a license?

I AM ALWAYS LIABLE

My response:

There is no State, of which I am aware, that has laws to "delete" previous marriage records "after" a divorce - - except where the marriage was terminated on grounds that such marriage was void from the beginning. But, if the marriage was otherwise valid, and then you merely received a decree of divorce at some point in time thereafter, the record of marriage will remain.

If the Michigan marriage license application requires an answer concerning previous marriages, then you better tell the truth. Remember, you'll be signing that document under oath, under penalty of perjury. If you lie, and the State discovers that you've lied, well, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes.
