Hey everyone!

I have a few questions about privacy violations. I have a server with one of the largest datacenters in the world (Based in Texas), and I have recently found out that a staff member is leaking personal account information and other various things to outside 3rd parties.

I brought this issue to the attention of the management and it took over a month to get anything done, and at the end all they said was this

“Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, we have spoken to the parties mentioned and we have taken and will continue to take steps to ensure the security of the information on our customer's accounts, we take privacy very seriously and will continue to do so into the future.”

Now this outside partly claims to have friends who works with this company and boasts that he can get anyone’s account information (This includes, names, phone numbers, usernames, passwords, etc), and other various things, he gets freebies (Computer Hardware) from the company because the staff members give it to him when they are not supposed too. I would prefer not to go into too many details on a public forum, but basically, it has been proven he is able to obtain information that is confidential and based on this company’s last reply they seem to recognize this is legit.

This same person is now giving out this information that he obtained to other people, even after this company claims things are over. This 3rd party is now having his friend search the database for anything relating to us and is giving it to him.

My question is this, it does appear that my privacy has been violated, and this person now appears to be mocking me, and I was interested in knowing if I took this case up with a lawyer if I would have a case or not against this company?

I am interested in hearing anyone’s opinions on this matter, to me this is serious. This company has a privacy policy and states they won’t give out to 3rd parties.

I do not enjoy having my privacy violated like this.

If there is anything I need to clarify or anyone needs more details on, I will be more than happy to provide this.

What on earth are you talking about?

undefined I thought you reported to your co. boss that you knew of another collegue/co-worker that they were selling company information? Which is what I would of done. But I got lost when you started on about the other partie mocking you! What is that all about? Anyhow, recently I have experienced the feelings of the victim of identity theft (amongst other drama bs... but thats different room) and thats what drew me to reading your thread.
If you want an answer to come back to you and you dont mind me being frank, with the short experience that I have had with this forum, "You gotta not let your emotions over-rule your intellect." And quit being so nice! State it and get it over with as quickly as possible. Make it simple yet plentiful. Hard huh?! When you've become so overwhelmed with lifes whoas and you may have had more of your share and others have had its hard. I used to be so insightful and quick and whoa im doing alot of about me sorry!
(Im workin on it myself so I dont mean to preach or babble )) Ooops ~ I did it again!
