So i purchased a car from a guy that did not have the pinkslip. he was still paying the car off. the car was under his mother's name. she was there when i purchased the vehicle. the name on the registration matched her driver license and everything.(it wasn't a stolen car). i paid him and he told me he will pay the vehicle off and give me the pinkslip or it would come to me. he had me fill out the dmv form for selling the vehicle and i had a copy too. i have his mother's license number and address and info. i printed out a paper stating that i am purchasing the vehicle from them and that they will hand over the pinkslip. i had them sign it and everything. i talked to him about last month and he told me he should be recieving the pinkslip soon, 6-9 weeks. is this guy lying to me? i havent even paid the dmv for the name transfer or anything. should i go to dmv and pay or what? i am worried they are going to fine me for not paying right away. its been 2 months since i purchased the vehicle.
