What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? AZ
I just need clarification on insurance payouts.
My wife was involved in an accident last October. The other parties insurance accepted full responsibility. Prior to this accident my wife had visited a certain chiropractor.
At that time she had paid $27 co pay each visit and her health insurance paid $15 which was $42 a visit. This was less than a year before the accident. After the accident she went back to the same chiropractor and gave her the details of the accident. She visited 32 times over the past 8 months. Each time she paid the same $27 co-pay and her health insurance paid $15 each visit. Now that she has been released we have found out that she has submitted a bill to the other party's insurance for $90 each visit. This is for the same exact procedures that she paid $42 for before the accident.
This just seems really shady to us. When she asked the chiropractor she said that they discounted services for non-accident services but they don't discount for not-at-fault auto accidents. Is this a standard industry procedure or is it shady practices?
