I live in NE, my husband just received paternity test results, after a year of pure hell...the child is almost 19 years old and has moved to where we live to attend college, thinking this is where his bio father lived. The results have come back as my husband being 100% excluded as his father. The mother has told everyone that the test is wrong and that he is the father, I believe to save herself because she didn't know who the father was and didn't figure on my husband requesting a test. I believe she will go to her grave telling people that he is the father, even after it has been proven wrong. Is there anything that we can do to stop this, a defamation of character or something. We don't believe in suing, but if she continues this, we need to do something to get her to stop...for her son's sake.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Does the ex and your husband live in the same town? Whom is she telling and how?

it was a one night stand many years ago, she, my husband and myself are from the same town in NE. She is in another state. They was never a relationship, let alone a marriage. Her son is going to college where my husband and I live in NE. She is telling her son and family and friends in the town we grew up in, that the test is wrong...?? This has been going on for a year and the test proves that she is either wrong or lying. She still won't give up.

Unless you have 10k available for legal action, then the best thing to do is ignore it. Not advice you wanted to hear, but any legal action will cost a great deal of money.
