What is the name of your state? Michigan

Im posting this for my cousin, In August of 2004 he started talking to this girl whom was 16 years old, Around Janurary they ended up moving in together after she turned 17, He is now 23. Now in april of this year her mom whom let her move out and had no problem with it is now tryin to press statutoriy rape because her father stopped payin her mom child support for her sence she does not live with her anymore and directly gives it to her. Now a state law that he read is that

Statutory Rape n : sexual intercourse with a person who is below the statutory age of consent, Michigan age of consent 17-Felony of up to four years in prison

So sein as that says 17 is the age of consent and she did not move out until she was 17, will he be able to get in trouble or is her mother just bluffing because she wants the child support back.

thanks!

Tell your cousin to use protection and STAY in school. Otherwise, her mother can BITE ROCKS. The age of consent is 16 in Michigan.

Bite rocks is an expression.
Breezie is telling you the mother doesn't have a case when it comes to the "statutory rape" charge.

Thanks for the responces. I also came across http://www.ageofconsent.com/michigan.htm
which says as long as she is 16 her mother cannot do anything. These people are also claiming they will turn my cousin in for being a pedo. Now both me and him have been trying to do some research on this but have came up with nothing in those areas on how they could arrest him for that.

Again thanks for the responces!
