What is the name of your state? CA

I am trying to create a newsletter for my clients. However, I need to screen print some exisiting webpages that may or may not be copyrighted to use them as an illustration. For example if I tried to screen print part of Microsoft Excel to use them in my newsletter, is it alright legally to do that?
Question 1. Am I allowed to do that or do I have to check if it is copyrighted or not?
Question 2. Where can I checked if the web page or application is copyrighted?
I appreciate your advice and sincerely thank you for your time.

I don't really know about Question 1, but as for Question 2: if it's a website, each page typically has copyright info at the bottom in fine print. If it's not there, it's generally not too hard to navigate through and find the info. If it's an application, copyright info would generally be found be selecting "About..." from within the Help dropdown menu.
