This message is a little complicated. I live in Idaho and I have an almost 5 year old son. He was the result of a date rape. No charges were brought against the man. Now I am married and my husband wants to adopt my son. On my son's birth certificate, the father's name is not listed. Do I have to inform the father of the adoption or can I proceed without his knowledge? If I have to inform him, does that mean I have to talk to him and face him again? How does this all work?
