What is the name of your state?-kINGSPORT, TENNESSEE: I was given permission to drive my brothers car while I was visiting my family in Tennessee. The first time I used his car was to go to Walmart to purchase some items for Valentines day. Returning home, I turned onto Lincoln St. which is the main st. leading back to my brothers house. There was a car in front of me and a black and white police car stopped mostly in the middle of the roadway and another police car was making a right turn down a side street. The police car that was stopped, the officer was talking to two black males who were leaning into his passenger front window. The car in front of me had to stop to see what the cop car would do, therefore I had to stop as well. The cop car was not going to move out of the way so the car in front of me finally went around him on the left and I proceeded behind him. I had to go less than 500 yards before I had to make my left onto Carver St; my brothers st. I was doing about 15 miles an hour. I was pulling into my brothers driveway when I noticed flashing blue lights. I got out of the car but was told by a kingsport police officer to get back into the car. There were two police cars now in front of my brothers house. The officer came to the car and asked me for my license, registration, and proof of insurance. I inturn asked him why was he asking me for these things. He stated "That I was doing 30 in a 20 mile an hour zone" I told him that that was impossible as he was stopped in the roadway and there was a car in front of me and we both stopped to see what he was going to do. He then stated "That yeah, I went around him doing the speed limit then I sped up" I told him that was impossible as there was a car in front of me and if I was speeding then what about the car in front of me? He discounted the car in front of me by saying that he didn't see a car in front of me. I was able to produce the requested documents knowing that this stop was bogus and another reason why I wont live in Tennessee. There were plenty of witnesses around the officers wouldn't let them anywhere close to what they were doing. I was told to get out of the car and I did so. The officer; Brian Carter, asked me if there was anything in the car that he should know about. I told him the car was not mine, that it was my brothers and that I was just returning from the store. He told me he was going to search the car and he did so. 5 minutes later I was being handcuffed and placed under arrest and I asked what was going on? Officer carter said "What is this?" as he held out his left hand and poured into it what appeared to be 6 individual small bags of marrijuana, from what looked like an oil can. I told him and his partner that it was not mine and I don't know what kind of game they are playing but I am not a drug dealer. I was never read my miranda rights nor did I sign anything resembling my miranda rights. I don't know what was in my brothers car as it was not my place to search his car to see what he may or maynot have had in it. I do remember seeing what I thought was two bottles of oil on the floor back passenger side when I put my bag from Walmart on the back seat. The entire car was searched as I was taken to Kingsport police headquarters. I had $82.14 in my pocket my brothers house keys and my wallet. Bail was set at $2,500. I was never given a traffic tickets or a charge sheet. I'm told I'm being charged the possession for resale more than a half ounce of marrijuana and speeding and driving on a suspended license. Again, I was not given any tickets or anything telling me what I'm being officially charged with. I was given back my money upon being bailed out, but they kept my brothers car and gave me a forfeit paper. I went to court two days later and stood in front of the judge with 30 other people at the same time and told that trial was being set for June 2,2005 and to get an attorney. No preliminary hearing, no grandjury, just trial set for june 2.

I'm already on 8 years probation from Kingsport, TN (non drug related charges) and haven't been back since 2002. I've been living right and staying out of trouble. I return to TN for 3 days and the same officer;Brian Carter who harrased me 3 years ago, strikes again. I don't want to go back to jail for something that I didn't do. Can you help?

Get a lawyer, and if you decide to beat up your brother, make sure it is not in Tennessee.

And, yeah...what does race have to do with this?
