remarriage after divorce

I have been separated from my husband for over 4 years..we finally got it finalized so I can get married to my soulmate..the question is..I got divorced today, Feb 9th , 2005 and my fiancee and i are to get married on Feb 14th in las vegas. I live in the State Of Wisconsin...I thought you could not get remarried in the same state for 6 months but today the judge stated i could not get married in ANY state. We have all the plans made and paid for the marriage..hotel etc..for las vegaas..what will happen to me when I do get married on Feb 14th? Will it be a legal marriage? I am to be put on my new husbands insurance right away since I dont have any...This worries me and him...We plan on getting "married" again for the family in the summer at our house on the lake..but this is a special day and we cant get our money back and we are still going through with it..what is going to happen? it isnt like I am going to be a bigamist..I am divorced and I will be moving to another state when we get married..please help me..thank you

I've never heard of such a thing. My divorce took so long that I was in the same situation as you. My divorce hearing was in June, but my attorney broke her leg and never got around to drawing up the divorce decree. Needless to say, my wedding plans were in trouble when I found out the thing had to be signed by all parties and filed before it was official in August. Then my ex tried to re-negotiate the damn thing.
We finally got the dumb thing signed on Wednesday, filed on Thursday and were able to get our marriage license on Friday so we could get married on Saturday. (Boy was my ex pissed when he found out on Sunday.)
All this after a 3 year ugly divorce.
Granted I'm in Ohio, but if I were you I'd talk to some other divorced people in your state. I don't see how they could prevent you from getting remarried if your divorce is legally final.

Ask the judge to give you a law that prevents you from getting married. If one exists you are out of luck. If he can't give you a law good luck in Vegas. I am on my 6th marriage. The only think I made sure of was that I was divorced from one before marrying another. My last one took Place in Vegas also.
