What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ohio

I am curious to know if anyone has an opinion on this.... I had signed an "Employee Apartment Lease Rider" for an apartment community where I was the "courtesy officer." Instead of money, I had received a discount on rent. Would this compensation be subject to taxation like a W-2 or 1099 type of employment?

This is a taxable fringe benefit like any other without an exception and, as such, it would be a W-2 item.

One question, though, are you required to live onsite for the job?

Thanks for the input... I was living on-site prior to getting the position. Though it is specifically for someone who is on-site.

And is that OTHER person required to live onsite to have this job?

I'm not a dentist, here.

Keep your dentistry kit in stowage.... As stated previously, it is specifically for people who are on-site. This would refer to those living there. Therefore the question was already answered.

Well, actually, I was trying to help. There are specific wage considerations if the employee is required to live on-site, rather than just living there because they want to.

As is said in the movie Airplane:

Chump don't want da help, chump don't get da help. :p
