Hi everyone. I've got a question. First off, after 6 years of fighting a dui charge in TN, I'm going to have to plead out and accept the dui charge. Since the arrest 6 years ago, my job has transferred me from Tennessee to Indiana, Texas and now Georgia. From what I understand, Georgia isn't a part of the compact that shares driver history with other states. I may be wrong. But my issue is this, my license will be suspended in TN. Will my GA license be suspended? I will still need to drive thru TN from time to time so will I need to get a restricted license thru GA? Please help! Thanks.

Georgia is not a member of the DLC, but **ALL** states participate in the NDR. Just because the aren't a member of the DLC doesn't mean they aren't getting notified about license actions and convictions in other state. Georgia will hear about your TN DUI and suspension. It is up to them to figure out whether they will sanction you accordingly. In fact, Gerogia will suspend for a few things automatically. Georgia lists DUI on the lists of things they will suspend for. Further, if you are still SUSPENDED in TN at the time your renewal comes up, you may find it hard to renew in GA until you reinstate there.
