What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? OH

If the company the owns my apartment building moves do they have to tell me formally in writing. I am in a transitional state moved into a new house a few hours away. I only had two months left on my lease so I decided to just stick it out as the buyout would have cost me more. I haven't been there in a month so I mailed a check to the address listed on the lease. Well they moved and didn't tel me. The check came back udeliverable, and very late. Well, when called they were just about file eviction paperwork. So they forced me to pay the conveniance fee for the credit card and a late fee. I feel they should refund my late fee at very least do I have any recourse?

Thanks

I'll bet notice was left on "your" door.
I'll also bet that you broke the lease by abandoning the property.

If that is the same address you have always mailed rent to and still have the envelope that was marked by the post office showing it to be undeliverable ? If you do make a copy of it and mail it via certified mail to them and ask them to credit you the late fee and other fee.
