Since your lawyer filed a lawsuit, can you provide the docket number and which court you are in, so that we can see what your lawyer filed.

It might be very interesting to see exactly how the suit was worded.

I will respect that settlement negotiations may be confidential and privileged, but the lawsuit itself isn't.

thank you.

Are you on some of your brother's meds? You came here on 2-24-6 asking basic questions, now you are saying that your attorney just filed a lawsuit and in less than 1 week they are offering a huge settlement out of court and admitting to being wrong. Sorry, it doesn't happen that way. Please provide the county and the case number so we can see for our selves this precident setting lawsuit, that is public information.

I smell a troll. Ohio has caps and stipulations on what can be awarded and this person doesn't have a case though the estate might be able to eek something out but not 3.5 million.

Again, my question stands:
Under what LEGAL authority are you able to file a lawsuit on behalf of your brother???

Probably so. IF this OP does have a lawyer, the lawyer probably sent the OP a BILL for 0.35 cents to cover the postage for his, "Sorry...after reviewing the case, YOU HAVE NO CASE" letter, but here's what you owe me.

I assume it's pretty difficult to focus on those decimal points and zero's when your eyes are all googly.

So in a week or so, the lawyer set up an estate, named you as personal representative and then filed suit and received a settlement offer of 3.5 mil? whatever.
