Seating in a restaurant...Capacities

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

I'm looking for a place to go, preferably online, where I can look up the building codes and find out what is required for seating in a restaurant. I currently am looking at managing one, and am kinda getting the run around from the owner.

Thanks Very much,

Jeff

Are you looking for the total number of occupants for the restaurant at any one given time?

If so, your local fire department has the seating capacity.

Ya. But I don't want a total occupancy. I mean with bathrooms being handicap accessible, and the like, how many people. That kinda thing. I've spent hours googleing. not sure really what to look for.

Thanks.

To get appropriate advice here as on google, you have to know what to ask?

If you are asking about ADA design issues, try ada.gov

If you are asking about any seating capacity questions, your local fire marshall is the one to ask. That is likely to complex, involving too many systems to address on the Web. (Hallway and doorway width, age of building, construction type, fire suppression systems, etc.)

Thank you for the help. ADA was exactly what I was looking for. You're right, knowing what to ask is half the problem, as I did not. lol

I really appreciate your help. Thanks again.
