{QUOTE} VERONICAGIA As far as your house with "2 parental figures.....who love them," your husband is not the father of these kids, and he has no more right to punish them than I do. He is a legal stranger to these kids. Not to mention your hint of insinuating that their father doesn't love them, or doesn't love them as much. {QUOTE}
{QUOTE} BELIZEBREEZE Yes, there is something you can do to get some peace. You can give up custody. Because lady, if my ex's husband, boyfriend or other put a hand on my daughters or even tried to discipline them in any way, he and I would have a come to jesus meeting with him losing.{QUOTE}
Okay i'm not very good at the quote thing, but I wanted to take this oppurtunity to point out that the OP has never insinuated (at least that is what I picked up) that the stepdad has physically disciplined the children. As for telling them to clean their room or do their homework, he has every right to do so, as a step parent he also has a right to tell them they are grounded for not doing as asked, lose phone privileges or get sent to their room. I agree that NO ONE has a right to lay their hands on any child. But the child has to be taught to respect step parents and the rules of the house as much as "real" parents. To state otherwise would leave a divided front and teach a horrible lesson that will effect those children for the rest or their lives.
