Oh my...that sounds expensive. Hopefully she would have to bear the costs of it since she brought this petition and she's the one who chooses to live away.

But if the judge did order us to split the cost, what happens if I don't have it. I can't even afford to have an attorney represent me. Do I automatically lose because I don't have thousands of extra dollars lying around? I mean we aren't living in a cardboard box, but it's paycheck to paycheck right now and there's just not any extra. I can support the family but that's about it right now.

Ugh this is so scary and stressful! Thank you for your help!

You tell the court that you do not see a change in circumstance and mom should bear the full cost of the GAL.
