i recently resigned my employment at a company i love because my boss, a female, was constantly talking about her sex life in vulgar detail, day after day was the same thing, it was affecting my work. after letting her know how i felt about the way she spent her time and how it affected my work, she retaliated against me by over supervising and holding me to a higher standard than before, she became viscous and hostile. i am now without a job and feel so angry that she makes so much money to do nothing but talk about her sex life, gossip and take advantage of people. I am trying hard not to be depressed, but it is terribly difficult. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST TIME OF MY LIFE!

if you've lost a job because of unfair treatment after requesting that your workplace be free from unwanted sexual conversations, you have a BIG legal claim that you have a right to make.

besides the "hostile environment" created by the unwanted conversations, you've suffered "retaliation." these are two separate wrongs that you've described, and each of them means your old employer is on the hook to compensate you for the misery you've suffered. (i don't mean to say "sue sue sue," but you've described blatant illegal behavior and you don't have to tolerate it.)

talk to a few employment lawyers to see what they say about your situation, and decide who you want to trust. they usually will give you a free initial consultation, since they usually work on contingency. call your local bar association (or talk to friends) for a reference to an employment or civil rights lawyer.
