What is the name of your state? new york
A and B are not related but been living together for over 60 years. 3 Bank accounts, 2-room apartment, etc are all registered in both names.
A is 90 yr old, single, living and with sound mind and living with his niece since last year.
B is 89 yrs old, single, living, alzheimer, now resides in nursing home and has 6 siblings.
One of B's siblings is claiming that one of the bank accounts belongs to B and intend to sue A for the money. Can B's siblings do that? How can they differentiate or distinguish who owns what as all these years; they shared everything together. I foresee that if they succeed in obtaining this one bank account, they will probably come forward and insist that everything else (the remaining 2 bank accounts plus the appartment) also belongs to B.
Also, A was hospitalised last year and was visited by B's siblings. These siblings are also claiming that during those visits; A had agreed to forgo his share of one of the bank accounts which A insist that he did not say so. What can A do?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.
Regards
