What is the name of your state? Arizona

My Fiance and I have twin girls 4 yrs. old. We have been together for 7 yrs. We want to get married very much. He has perfect credit. I have very bad credit. I have been told Just don't put my name on anything we apply for. We are worried it will effect his credit. How will my bad credit history effect his credit? How will it effect our credit future? Will it ruin his credit? Please say we can make our family offical? I want nothing more than to carry his last name. :)

If you have to ask on an internet forum whether you should get married, then I suspect the answer is a resounding NO.

Ussally people would go to their friends and family to asks this kind of question. You wont get a good response asking total strangers who don't even know you or what kind of relationship you have with each other, whether it's good, bad, stable. You should only marry someone if you love the persona and want to spend the rest of your lives with each other. That's ussally why most couples get married.

To answer your question, your credit history is your credit history, his is his. They don't combine credits. If you both sign for something and the bill reflects that both of you are responsible for paying the bill and you don't then both credit scores will suffer. Remember, they check credit and credit scores on your social security number and even if you get married you will never share those numbers. As far as asking a question like this in order to make a decison on whether to marry him or not tells me that you might be making excuses. Search your heart. I am also engaged to a man who has rotten credit and mine is perfect, but I love him and whether or not our credit scores match makes no difference to me. I handle the money now, I own the house, all the bills are in my name and it is going to stay that way. His money will be deposited in the joint account and he gets an allowance and I take care of the rest. I suspect it would be a good idea if you two do the same. Keep in mind though that if you are living in HIS house after you marry and he dies, by law you get the house anyway unless he it says differently in a will or pre nupt.
