Ya lost me.

This was regarding a poster that had a similar situation.

And you still have not presented anything that would show the breeder had any liability to pay for the bills.

And here:
Well, the "breeder" stated he was up to date with all shots, including parvo. But she turned out to be a liar, so who knows?
My vet and I had to assume he had not been vaccinated for ANYTHING, and went from there.

What proof do you have of any of your allegations? Even you state your vet assumed no vaccinations.

Even if the dog was sick when sold does not make the seller liable by itself. You still have not answered if there was any guarantee/warrantee with the dog.

Why do you feel the treatment with nebulizers was incorrect? Are you now saying you are a vet? Here again you give incomplete info and expect an answer to be above reproach.

No I'm not a vet. I am an RN. Antibiotic therapy is the standard treatment for pneumonia. Nebs treat symptoms only, like shortness of breath, and can actually introduce MORE bacteria in the lungs if not administered properly.
As for the ? of any guarantee/warrantee? I've been trying to answer that but I'm not as adept at posting in the forums as the rest of you in here.
Yes, there was a standard guarantee that states seller is not responsible for any illness except for congenital birth defects/conditions or serious life threatening illnesses (such as PNEUMONIA,agree?).
She refused to do anything but take the dog back, as I oringinally stated.
All I want to know is if there is a "puppy lemon law" in the state I live in--ILLINOIS. Does anyone happen to know how I can find out?

Like I said, I'm not a law person, ok? It's just common sense here..When I brought my puppy home, the breeder told me she was treating him with nebs for a little "cold and runny nose." I BELIEVED her and took him home. He seemed fine until a few days later, he became very sick, coughing/gagging. I took him to the vet, Xrays showed extensive pneumonia, we thought he might die!!!!! I nursed him thru this (meds, rest, humidifiers, etc).
This breeder told me he was checked by a vet (and stated so in the warranty), shots and all. I had no reason not to believe her at this point.
Obviously she lied, or HER vet would've found pneumonia, right? So, my vet and I had to assume he didn't get his shots either.
And that's the only proof I have:(

are you stating this is bacterial pnuemonia as opposed to virule? Antibiotics for virule pnuemonia?

re nebs: treating the symptoms is the treatment for virule pnuemonia, isn't it?
How do you know the nebs were improperly administered?

This has nothing to do with the forums. It is a question posed to you. What, if any, guarantee/warrantee did the seller give to you. It is a question only you can answer.

Yes, there was a standard guarantee that states seller is not responsible for any illness except for congenital birth defects/conditions or serious life threatening illnesses (such as PNEUMONIA,agree?).
And here seems to be somewhat of an answer to that very question.

So now, what remedy does the guarantee offer in case of a serious illness?

She refused to do anything but take the dog back, as I oringinally stated
.
If this is an option within the guarantee and you refused to accept it, you then take on the responsibility of the vet bills.

You are absolutely 100% correct:). The breeder did offer to take the dog back (over my dead body:eek: ). This dog loves me for saving his life, just as I love him for saving mine (dramatizing a little here;)
Thanks for taking an interest, and for the advice.

Well that about wraps things up then. Since you refused to avail yourself of the provisions of the guarantee, you then have accepted responsibility of the vet bills.

Glad to hear the pup did come through okay.
