What is the name of your state? Nevada

Just to close off your last comment, I was trying to understand what CJane was saying her daughter was saying/doing. I thought between calling her "Unruly" and the things she was saying, that her daughter meant it, too, so that's why I said it was unreal and I asked if those were her feelings or if she was just repeating what Dad said, not hurt intended.

CJane described it as "parroting" which in our home means the children repeat what their mother says verbatim and they mean it (because there is pretty serious alienation so kids/mom's opinions/feelings are very enmeshed).

I think in CJane's case, parroting means she's only repeating what she heard as a messenger, not as her own opinion.

If it was the parroting we experience, then that would be out of line and the type of thing that parents have to struggle w/dealing with (and what my response was based on).
