My sister in-law just recently told me that my brother who has not paid child support in over 6-7 years is going to recieve disability for being a drug addict 1,000 a month is she \ her kids entitled to any of this money?

If he receives SSDI the mother will get a check for the children from SAA ,
The kids will be entitled from his disability ( provided it's under SSDI ).

Unless he has any other assets or other income in his bank account, don't count on collecting arrears , unless or until he has other assets .

If he receives SSI , then NO .

what steps does she take if it is SSDI , or will it be sent automatically. she really needs this . the gov has taken all of her tax returns for the past 6years for his owed back taxes can they still keep doing this even though theyve been leagally divorced for 7 .

He should provide SSA with the children's and caregivers information, but just in case she should call the Local or 800 SSA office and ask .


The will continue tax intercepts as long as there are arrears .
