What is the name of your state? Texas
A good friend of mine passed away Tuesday. She had filed for her ss benefits and had been approved. The ss office said they would pay her as far back as March..which was the first time she put in the hospitol. She past away before checks were processed. Would her child whom is 24 years old (has power of attorney) be eligable to recv money from march thru June?

I doubt it very much if it is SSI. Benefits are for the Persons that Applied for them . If benefits were SSDI , I don't know if those funds would go to the estate or not .

Why does not the person with POA ask SSA at their toll free # . That's their Job .
