I was stopped by a cop while going to work doing 61 in a 45 mph zone, he also stopped me right before the 55 mph zone. The thing was I had only a permit, nobody with me, and I was to test for my license the next day. He didn't say much except that he wanted someone to pick me up and that if he caught me driving again he would arrest me. He wrote out a ticket which indicated my offenses but not how much I owed. I assumed I'd match my offenses with the offenses list on the back and figure out how much I'd owe. Well, the next day I tested and passed for my license. According to the back of the ticket I had 21 days to pay it and if it was late there would be a 5 dollar charge. Three days short of the 21 day I got a letter from the court of criminal and traffic telling me I had an arraignment to attend and that I should have the fees to be paid present at the sentencing. The letter did not indicate what it was in regards to. I want to know how serious this is or can be. What are my rights exactly? I'm kinda ignorant in this situation and worried. I'd appreciate any advice anyone with legal expertise can give me.

This is so local that I can not advise you. Each locale has its own rules. But go to the court and ask the clerk.
