ok well i received a speeding ticket tonight from a cop that said he paced me. from my speedometer i saw i was going 4 mph over and took my foot off the gas, i looked up and saw the lights. he said i was going 50 in a 40 when i dont believe i even could have been going 4 mph over. i think that the officer may need glasses due to the fact that he made 6 errors on the ticket all of which were on the insurance form and my license, both of which he was reading. i can give you particulars if need be.. do you think i may have a case to get out of the ticket.. thanks for any help you can offer...

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

I think you can try to argue your way out of it. What you should have asked for was the calibration record.

Look up the law regarding tickets/citations for traffic violations in your county and state and see where that takes you. I.e. if these mistakes and the lack of a calibration record will be enough.

Also, since you have the officer's badge number or name, call and see when he is on duty. Make up a reason. Then, schedule your court date on his day off.
