State of Illinois. My husband and I are divorcing after 10 years of marriage. While we were married, my husband won a medical malpractice suit from his first wife's death. My husband had 7 children, all but one were minors when we married. The youngest had just turned 2. We did have a daughter of our own that is 9 now. What I wonder is if part of that money from the structured settlement can be paid to me as spousal support? Does that money get included as his income? I lost my job due to a mental breakdown from the split up of my marriage. My husband left me for a 20 yo. But when he left, he also left behind all his minor children whom I cared for for a year. They have all finally moved in with older siblings. My husband is not even taking care of his own children. What a louse!
