My husband has been on Workers' Comp. for over 3 years now. In the mean time we applied for SSD (not SSI) & was denied. We appealed and he just won. It will be retroactive to 2003. My question is...do we have to pay back Workers' Comp. from the SSD? Also, since it is retroactive to 2003 will he get Medicare? He will be settling with Workers' Comp. for a lump sum in the near future. It won't be much and we are hoping this will help with all the medical expenses and not being ever able to work again. Will that be taken from us when we get it by SSD then?

I know it sounds confusing, but surely someone out there must have experienced the same thing.
