Okay, so here's the deal. I have a girlfriend right now, we've been together for 7 months. I am 17 and she is 14. Her birthday is in July, mine is in August. We're exactly 2 years and 11 months apart in age. I will be turning 18 and she will be 15. Her parents do not agree with her being with someone as old as I am and I'm afraid that when I'm 18 they will say if I get close to her that they'll pin me with statutory rape. What is the laws in Indiana on Stactutory rape, I've been searching and cannot find anything on it. If someone could give me the stachatory rape laws in Indiana, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm sure it's against the law, but would it be a felony or just a misdemeanor since we are only 2 years and 11 months apart?

In Indiana, she would have to be 16 in order to legally consent to sex. Dude - she's too young, regardless. She's a kid - either keep the pants zipped or find a woman your own age.

I have a sister that's going to be 14 and their is no way I'd let her date someone as old as you.
Reguardless of you feel about her, you need to respect her parents wishes, she's still a minor and you'll be an adult, especially if you don't want to get into trouble of any kind.
But here's the options I see for you
1. Break up with her and get a girl your age or closer to your age.
2. Wait until she's 18 to date her.
3. Talk with her parents and see if their is something you all could work out so you can still see her.

From Indiana Statutes:
IC 35-42-4-9
Sexual misconduct with a minor
Sec. 9. (a) A person at least eighteen (18) years of age who, with
a child at least fourteen (14) years of age but less than sixteen (16)
years of age, performs or submits to sexual intercourse or deviate
sexual conduct commits sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class C
felony......
(b) A person at least eighteen (18) years of age who, with a child
at least fourteen (14) years of age but less than sixteen (16) years of
age, performs or submits to any fondling or touching, of either the
child or the older person, with intent to arouse or to satisfy the sexual
desires of either the child or the older person, commits sexual
misconduct with a minor, a Class D felony.....

Spells it out pretty clear, don't you think?

You should stay away from her and heed all the other posters advice.

I have a question.....this guy has been having sex with middle school kids and he is 19. A mom filed a report and the cops came and talk to many girls at my school. How many years in jail will he have? Some one told me that he has 16yrs for jus 2 of the girl but there are like 7 more girl and that he gets 5 yrs for each girl. Is it true that you get 5 yrs for every girl? That would mean he would be in jail for for 45 some years....i was just wondering if thats how it realy works?...plz answer me...
