I am receiving harrassing and life threatening phone calls, emails, instant messages...from an emotionally unstable woman with a history of violent behavior. I have contacted my local phone carrier and have been advised to put a block on her phone calls...she just uses different pay phones instead and changing my phone number is not an option. I have contacted my local police and filed a complaint. The officer contacted the woman who is threatening me and she proceeded to call me and threaten me again! I am at a loss. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I live in Pennsylvania and she is in Michigan and Ohio.

need a little more info. did you do something to get her mad at you? did you take her man away? jealousy? cost her a job? if we are going to be able to help you, we need to see the bigger picture.

Stalking???

Forget stalking! An interstate threat do do you bodily harm is a crime, I suggest you contact the FBI with copies of everything and a log of phone calls and what was said as best as you recall.

Whipsnake: I'm not sure the "why" is important, is there any ever justification for threatening someones life?

law of physics- every action emits an equal and opposing reaction. stalking is not an action, but a reaction. to what? the answer could very well be the key to the problem and it's solution. you cann' expect to put a puzzle to gether if the store keeps some of the pieces. young lady, iask you again. what did you do,or what are you doing to be the recipient of all this attention?

I don't know about the legalities, but what's to keep you from continuing to lock out phone numbers? If your attacker continues to have to find additional pay phones to call you from she's going to run out of convenient ones. I'm assuming no one would need to call you legitimately from a pay phone in those states. Record the phone calls, get caller ID and make unidentified callers identify themselves. Our phone company offers that feature, yours probably does as well. As you continue to pile up solid evidence, keep showing the evidence to the cops. Sooner or later she'll end up in jail. Personally, I'd check the laws in your area about gun ownership. Buy one, learn how to use it, keep it as close as you legally can. Don't be abusive to the caller in any way. Make sure she knows you don't want to hear from her, and perhaps that you're taking legal action but don't fight with her or threaten her.

Contact the police evertime she contacts you. Also contact the police of the state that she is from. Get caller Id and have it set up only to take calls from certain phone numbers. If she has threated to harm you then she can be arrested for teristick threats. You really hsould think about changing your phone number. If she knows your address then maybe even move. Also no longer give out your phone number or address to people you meet over the internet!!!!!

One clarification Whipsnake, I didn't tell her to do anything violent, just to get a gun to protect herself if the stalker wants to get violent.
