What is the name of your state? Michigan

My son was in Michigan working and bought some statc guard to spray on his pants for static cling. The product itched him severly and he ended up in the Hospital ER room. They did some blood work and told him he has a severe infection and the doc feels like it happen because of the static guard since before that my son had no other problems with his legs (chins.) Hee uses sme kind of cream several times a day for comfort but the doc said this will never go away. Does anyone have any comments on this or has anyone heard of such thing happening before with this product? If I have left out anything just ask I am new and this. Thanks

Static Guard (tm) (the product) does not cause this kind of reaction.

I disagree. He might be allergic to one of the ingredients in the Static Guard (tm), but the rash should go away and stay away as long as he stays away from that ingredient.

People can be allergic to just about anything.

When my son was a baby, I tried to be the good mommy, so I used the special laundry detergent made just for babies (Dreft). I broke out into a horrible rash from the detergent. After much trial and error, I decided to be a bad mommy and just use the same detergent we'd been using all along. No more rash. :D

That was kinda what i would think if he is allergic to something in the static guard it would go away as long as he doesnt use it anymore. However, it has been a year now and he still has the rash and it is only on his chns where he spayd his pants .. so smething is wrong ??

Why didn't he just wash it off of his legs, change clothes even if he had to buy a pair of slacks/trousers?

Static guard is nothing but animal fat and a transport medium. Your son scratched these products into his skin and an inflammatory process began; he broke the skin barrier and scratched the products deeper into his tissues.

I really doubt the manufacturers of Static Guard are at fault.

It would seem that he scratched and opened the skin barrier, probably to staph (the most prevalent bacteria on the skin).
If he is not clearing up with the cream, a trip to a Dermatologist for a possible round of antibiotics and/or steroid dose may be in order.

HA HA...I read you all's reply to him and he said. He sprayed it on went to work and got kinda sweaty and it probably seep into his skin that way then that is when he started itching, but says there were welps befor he started scratching...so ofcourse it had to be the static guard, but it is normal too have an allergic reaction to alot of things even things we have been around all our lives. Just was wondering if any of you all had ever heard of this before? Thanks

I was gonna sue those guys..... ;)
Maybe we can. We pull together a dream team of attorneys from this site, file a class action lawsuit on behalf of all those who did not understand that you don't apply Static Guard to your skin or to the inside of trousers that wear close to the skin. The manufacturer will be forced to add such a warning to its label and they will pay us a huge amount in settlement, which we will then pay a portion of to Belize Breeze for an extended vacation on his boat, even if he has to buy one.

Sound OK to you?

I was waiting for someone to make the connection between spraying it on his skin rather than the outside of his pants.

Did I ever tell you the story about the guy from the hills who had never seen a banana and was given one to eat,. After politely accepting the strange looking fruit commenced to eat it. A while later the host asked if he enjoyed his banana, he replied " It was OK, but is had a lot of core!"

GET THIS--the inside of his jeans or "pants" is directly next to his skin, unless he has on stockings or such, and he may as well have sprayed it on his skin and let it rub off on the "pants".
GEESH, PERSON!

So Are You Saying Static Guard Is Made Just For People Who Dont Wear Pants? If His Slacks Are Clinging To His Legs Where Is He Suppose To Spray It?? Hummm **************i Would Say Spray It On The Out Side Of His Slacks, That After All Is What The Product Is Made For, And He Had Socks On Not Stockings Or Hip Boots.

I Just Dont Understand How Difficult This Is And Making A Big Issue Out Of It? It's All Kinda Simple (even If I Am From Ky.. Haha..

The Boy Bought Static Guard Sprayed It On The Outside Of His Slacks Not On His Skin.
